Stress relief during finals week

As this is my first year of finals I am quite stressed, but I am sure everyone else is stressed too. I am just going to tell you a few things that have been helping me get through the stress of finals.
The first thing that has helped me beyond belief was changing the music I listen to. If anyone is like me and has a short attention span, listening to calmer music while studying will help you focus more. That was one place where I have always went wrong, I have always listened to hip-hop. Never did I think that listening to something calmer would help me focus better, and make me actually get things done. I’ll post some of my favorite music that’s on heavy rotation during this time for me.
The second thing that has seemed to help me has been coloring. Taking a small break during studying to just color in a coloring book, has helped me reduce stress while studying. Also if you have an apple watch, wear it while studying. As it can tell when your heart rate is rising, so it will tell you to take a minute and breath.
Third, see if your school offers anything to help reduce stress during finals week. For my school we have meditation sessions before finals. So it’s definitely worth it to take a few minutes and see if your school offers anything like my school does. If they do the best part is that it is most likely free!
Last make sure you get plenty of sleep during this time. Yes you need to study, but you need to take care of yourself too. With less sleep the harder it will be able for you to focus. Just think of finals as any other day or any other test, I know easier said than done. The less you think about the fact that it is finals, the better you might actually do on your test or your paper.
